How to Finish what You Start

Striving for excellence in everything you do is purposeful living. Of course, that begins with finding things to do that have meaning to who you want to be. It’s critical not to let life move into the doldrums; take on a new challenge. Once you do find something, it’s about asking, “Am I willing to give enough to get what I want?” Commitment and sacrifice will be necessary, but giving less than your best should be unacceptable. Sometimes, you may have to lower your expectations; that’s fine if you keep trying. Here is the mindset when attacking a new adventure.

For your next goal, know that:

·      Getting ahead is about finding a way.

·      Big tasks are the daring adventures you must crave.

·      Starting fast is helpful, but having enough "inside" to stay the course is the difference.

·      Executing steady practice habits brings the balance needed for success.

·      Memory can be a friend or foe; choose to remember the good and forget the bad.

·      Taking your shot and failing is more satisfying than never attempting it in the first place.

·      Maintaining your initial excitement is the challenge.

·      Total commitment is the top defense against self-doubt.

·      Regrets do not come after giving your all.

Finally, remember to “Commit to today, knowing tomorrow you will be better; hope lives the now.”
