About the Author.

Jack Perconte has dedicated his post-major league baseball career to helping youth, parents, and coaches through the complicated world of sports. Through his playing, coaching, parenting, and running experiences, he continues to help create better sport’s training for all. Jack offers the philosophy and strategies to keep the fun in the games and the stress out of it. Jack believes the best way to help athletes is through the education of coaches and parents, so ultimately the youth athletes are the ones who benefit.

At the age of 26, on September 13, 1980, he made his MLB debut with the Los Angeles Dodgers. His most productive seasons were with the Seattle Mariners during which he hit a combined .281 and stole 60 bases in 68 attempts. Perconte enjoyed a seven-year major league career from 1980-86, playing for the Dodgers, Indians, Mariners, and White Sox. He is a member of the Murray State University Athletics Hall of Fame, The Joliet Area Sports Hall of Fame and the Albuquerque Sports Hall of fame. and Joliet Catholic Hall of Champions.

Coach Perconte operated Jack Perconte’s Sports Academy (Naperville, IL) for 19 years and has given approximately 80,000 lessons, along with conducting countless camps and clinics for players of all ages. He continues to teach baseball and softball now in his 33rd year of coaching. He has a YouTube channel and hitting class to help ballplayers of all ages.

Jack turned to writing to further help athletes and parents survive the sport’s world. Jack writes of playing, coaching, parenting, and running. He was a featured writer for Baseball the Magazine for 10 years.

In addition to his MLB career, he has run 18 marathons and details what went into finishing them in his newest book - The Success Trail.
